Inauguration of the Alley of Lime Trees dedicated to Václav Havel and all other fighters for freedom and democracy in Bucharest. Václav Havel was a Czech writer, philosopher, dissident, and statesman. From 1989 to 1992, he served as the last president of Czechoslovakia. He then served as the first president of the Czech Republic (1993–2003) after the Czech–Slovak split. Within Czech literature, he is known for his plays, essays, and memoirs.
Io order to honor Václav Havel and other fighters for freedom the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bucharest organized an event where linden trees were planted. The linden tree is the national Czech tree. To accompany the event concept, an poem by famous Mihai Eminescu was recited: ''And drowsy with this harmony / Of a forest bowed deep as in prayer, / Lime-tree petals that hang above us / Will fall sifting higher and higher.''
The linden tree and the poem served as inspiration for the visual identity of the event. A bouquet
of linden flowers forming the shape of a heart. To suggest the melodic character of the event a bird was sitting next to the heart. The colours were also inspired by nature, a fresh green and a dreamy yellow.
